This year, James Gibb are aiming to hold their biggest ever Macmillan Coffee Morning, and YOU’RE invited!
Our event is taking place on Friday 27th September between 10am and 12pm at our offices in both Edinburgh and Aberdeen, where the doors will be open to friends, family, our customers and anyone else who would like to come along.
James Gibb staff will be ‘baking it or faking it’ and will serve tea, coffee and cakes to those who come along.
It’s not only James Gibb who are hosting their own coffee morning; thousands of people across the UK are to host a Coffee Morning on Friday to help raise money for Macmillan to help to support those affected by cancer. Last year, an incredible £26,914,382 was raised for the charity thanks to the Coffee Mornings.
People have been raising money for Macmillan through Coffee Mornings since 1990. Initially, it was a small affair and a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan. But’s it’s proved to be an effective idea, having raised over £200 million since then.
This is going to be a really great morning and a perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause! If you’d like to find out more, do not hesitate to get in touch with our Edinburgh or Aberdeen office.
How could your money help?
£250 could pay for five people living with cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, providing them with the skills to improve the management of these areas in their lives.
£335 could pay for a Macmillan grant that helps a family affected by cancer take a holiday and enjoy precious time together.
£546 could pay for a Macmillan Social Care Worker for a week, helping patients, family members and carers manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer.
